A hunger after proclaiming and expressing feelings, thoughts and beliefs through a medium of extremeness, brutality and melancoly, made the quartet from Norway form Drottnar. 1996 was the year they first established musical relations and started off with death/doom metal. They chose the name Vitality, and released their first five song demo in May 1997. Musical skills and developement in music made Vitality experiment with black metal infiltrations in their way of creating music. They turned out to becoming a pure black metal band. This was evident on their second recording "A White Realm", which contained three tracks of pure black metal in a bit of folk/viking vein. This development carried also a new band name along, as the quartet now chose to be recognized as Drottnar. The Drottnar demo was never released; it was only ment for promotional reasons. A record company that showed interest in this material was Plankton Records of the U.K. The first full-length album of Drottnar "Spiritual Battle" is now released by this company. It consists of the two recorded demos of the band, featuring both Vitality and early Drottnar. Drottnar never stopped to develop and create new ways of expressment through extremeness. In late 1999 and early 2000 Drottnar entered the studio of Black Woods Productions to record new material. This time one song called "Trellebaand maa briste" was recorded; a song to be found on Endtime Productions’ Compilation "In The Shadow Of Death". The song is more in the veins of traditional Norwegian black metal, showing brutality and fast black metal along with atmosphere and melody. Drottnar shows black metal at its finest, expressing what inspires and creates the blaze within their hearts and in the depths of their beings. The lyrics show their beliefs, and tell that Drottnar fully dedicate their music and lives to their Master Jesus Christ...
