Aki Särkioja - Vocals and bass
Esa Särkioja - Guitar
Jupe Hakola - Guitar
Pete Loisa - Drums
Immortal Souls started from the cold streets of the north; Kokkola, Finland. The
Band was created by Aki Särkioja on Bass and Voice; and his brother Esa Särkioja
on Guitar. Jupe Hakola joined a few years later on drums, after three other
drummers came and departed. As a trio, the band released two demo tapes and one
CD-EP. The Band had re-enforcement as Pete Loisa joined on the second guitar in
1999. All players have a long experience in band activities, and all have a
history of different styles of music.
Immortal Souls was founded already at the end of 1991, but the "real" beginning
was at the end of 1998 when the band released the CD-EP "Divine Wintertime"
(LRP-9901). The EP featured four aggressive death metal tracks and melodic
athmospheres with ice cold sounds. The EP was released by Little Rose
Productions as a split CD with another melodic metal band Mordecai.
The record label Little Rose Productions signed Immortal Souls at the end of
1999, by the success of "Divine Wintertime". The Band released a new EP October
2000, called "The Cleansing" (LRP-012). That offered a taste of the forthcoming
Album "Under the Northern Sky". Featuring also four songs; "The Cleansing" from
the album, two remakes "Until" and "The Prophet" from the earlier demo, and "Icebound".
"The Cleansing" EP was a powerful continuation for the melodic, athmospheric and
aggressive death metal road that "Divine Wintertime" started.
The full-length album "Under the Northern Sky" will be released in Winter
2000-2001.
